Tour the sanitation district

The Las Virgenes Municipal Water District and Triunfo Sanitation District will offer a free bus tour of the area's water treatment facilities from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine, Sat., Feb. 23 at 4232 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas.

Participants will learn about key water issues and view the infrastructure involved in converting 10 million gallons of wastewater daily into recycled water and garden compost that benefit the environment.

A complimentary continental breakfast and light lunch will be served.

Space is available to residents of the district service areas on a first come, first served basis. Preregistration is required.

The tour is restricted to ages 12 and above. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Moderate walking and stairways will be encountered during the tour. To make a reservation, visit www.LVMWD.com or call (818) 251-2100.
