Jewish academy to begin lecture series The Conejo Jewish Academy will offer a threepart lecture series on "Beacons, From the Rabbi's Study," a series of talks from Rabbi Moshe D. Bryski. The lectures will take place at 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the academy, 30345 Canwood St., Agoura Hills. The first lecture is Feb. 27, "Do you believe in angels?" The talk will cover Biblical stories and scriptural writings that refer to angels commissioned to fulfill specific tasks, as well as angels in the modern era. March 5 is "The power of memories," the importance of remembrance in rituals as both an individual and national phenomenon. The last talk on March 12, "Of prophecies, resurrection and modern day miracles," will discuss Ezekiel's prophecy of the dry bones and Jewish belief regarding supernatural events. Bryski is the academy founder and dean, and also executive director of Chabad of the Conejo. There is a fee of $5 per lecture.
