Agoura Hills to sponsor bike rodeo, battle of bands

The city of Agoura Hills announced several upcoming events for February and March.

•The inaugural Public Safety Day and 18th annual Bike Rodeo will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., March 8. Public Safety Day promotes safety in the community. Local organizations such as the fire department, police department, Agoura Cycle and McCormick Ambulance will provide activities.

The Bike Rodeo is for children ages 6 to 14 and is designed to check that the children's bikes are properly fitted and maintained, that children understand

how to safely use a bike and that helmets are properly fitted. There will be a raffle for bicycle items.

•Teen bands are needed to participate in Agourapalooza: Teen Battle of the Bands. Bands must apply in person and demos are necessary. The show is scheduled to be from 7 to 11 p.m. Fri., Feb. 29. Each band will get 45 minutes, which includes setting up, performing and breaking down. Stage and sound will be provided. Bands must provide all other equipment.
