Three Calabasas Boy Scouts achieve high rank of Eagle

READY TO SOAR- Newly honored Eagle Scouts, from left, Aaron Burgess, Michael Steffen and Parker Zak, all of Calabasas, celebrate earning the highest rank in Boy Scouting. The young men, along with friends, donated more than 700 hours of community service.
Calabasas residents Aaron Burgess, Michael Steffen and Parker Zak have become the latest members of Boy Scout Troop 22 to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.

The awards were presented in a joint ceremony on Feb. 16 at Prince of Peace Episcopal Church in Woodland Hills.

To achieve the highest Scouting honor, the three young men advanced through six prior ranks and concluded their Eagle requirements by completing a community service leadership project.

More than 700 community service hours were donated by the Scouts along with their friends and colleagues in a series of projects that benefitted Orcutt Ranch Horticultural Center, Summerville Senior Residence and Assisted Living, and Calabasas High School.

Currently in their senior year, Burgess, Steffen and Zak will graduate from high school in the spring and all are planning to attend college in the fall.

Troop 22 has produced more than 40 Eagle Scouts since 1996. For more information, visit the organization's website at www.Troop22.com.
