Decision on learning center upsets some
      I am writing about the superintendent's recent decision to not renew the contract of Heart In Education, the groundbreaking team that has changed the face of progressive education with the opening of the Las Virgenes Community Learning Center.

Community school needs our support
      In 2007 I was asked to hear Brenda Harari speak about a new school opening in Calabasas. Since then, I have enrolled my two sons in that school, Las Virgines Community Learning Center. It is a truly phenomenal example of "progressive education.

Not informed about fluoride
      "Fluoride is required by law" per Ron Stark's guest opinion should have read "Toxicology on fluoride is required by law." Water customers are entitled by law to know what chemicals are being added to their water and what the toxicology is on those chemicals.

Due diligence is needed
      It took strength for a member of the Triunfo Sanitation District Board to step up and try to voice his comments via "Guest Opinions" in last week's Acorn. I thank Ron Stark of the Triunfo Sanitation District for doing that.

Let the parents decide on fluoride
      The Centers for Disease Control says fluoride's benefits are derived only from topical application, so why are we all being forced to drink, cook and bath in fluoride? If the ADA states that infants should not ingest fluoride, then why should I give it to my children?

Animal shelter looks better
      We, the resident animals in Agoura Hills, have voted our shelter number one. We want to thank the wonderful people companions that take such outstanding care of us 365 days a year and now we're even more thankful that our temporary home is a safer place for our friends to visit.
