Sharpshooters on target at Westlake NJB tourney

On Super Bowl Sunday, Westlake National Junior Basketball held its first three-on-three tournaments, which also featured a shooting clinic from former UCLA and NBA star Don MacLean, followed by a 3-point shooting contest.

More than 50 players from 14 teams competed in three divisions- third, fourth and seventh/ eighth grades.

The winners of the threeonthree tournaments were:

Third grade: The Chargers with Ben Wise, Chris Diaz and Jacob Appleby.

Fourth grade: The Warriors with Adam Hess, Joe Glassman, Riley Battin and Ryan Harper.

Seventh/eighth grades: Westlake Stars with Dominick Ju, Kevin Welti and Travor Darling.

The winners and runner-ups for the 3-point contests were:

Second grade: Shane Cronin and Colin Perrigo.

Third grade: Eric Triplett and Chris Diaz.

Fourth grade: Evan DeLong, Nick Suppa and Travis Harper (tied for second).

Fifth grade: Ryan Jaches and Niccolo Posarelli.

Sixth grade: Kyle Morris and Aleksandr Abrams.
