Dinner dance, silent auction to benefit Calabasas High music program

The second annual dinner dance and silent auction to benefit Calabasas High School's Music Boosters is scheduled on Sun., Feb. 10 at The Canyon in Agoura Hills.

According to event chair Cynthia Hodes, the dinner dance and auction will help support an array of music programs at the school.

Calabasas High School offers students the opportunity to perform in wind ensembles, jazz and concert bands, and a variety of choruses. The school also offers training in harmony, string orchestra and music appreciation.

Silent auction items will include Mammoth vacations, fine jewelry, Disney memorabilia, Laker tickets and a football helmet signed by Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts.

Hodes said the booster club pays for auxiliary teachers and purchases music instruments and other necessities to keep the programs running.

Several student groups will be performing at the event, including jazz and chamber ensembles. Dance music will also be played during the evening.

Tickets cost $65 for adults and $50 for students. Hodes said after Feb. 1, tickets will cost $75. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.

The event starts at 5 p.m. The Canyon is at 28912 Roadside Drive in Agoura Hills.

For tickets or further information call (818) 222-0271 or Hodes at (818) 591-1026.
