Red Cross to give safety class

The American Red Cross invites third, fourth and fifthgraders to Safe Kids Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sun., Feb. 3 at the Oak Park Recreation Center, 1000 N. Kanan Road.

Training will be given in basic first aid, rescue breathing, water, fire, sports and transportation safety. Children will train in interactive groups and receive materials to reinforce the learning.

Training will be conducted by Red Cross Youth Services Clubs, which are comprised of high school volunteers who coordinate and lead activities related to the Red Cross mission.

Snacks will be provided.
