Agoura Hills City Calendar
•New signs have been installed to identify the plants and trees in the garden of the historic Reyes Adobe in Agoura Hills. Each sign contains the common and botanical names of the plant or tree, and the font is easy to read. The Reyes Adobe features a variety of native Californian plants, especially those that were grown at the time the adobe was built in 1850. Public tours of the adobe take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, and from 1 to 4 p.m. the second and fourth Saturday of each month. Suggested donations are $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and $1 for children ages five to 12. •The city of Agoura Hills Center is sponsoring an official "Concerts in the Park" street banner, which will be hung along Kanan Road and Thousand Oaks Boulevard from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day weekend. Organizations and businesses interested in the promotion will have their names displayed on the banner's lower portion. •IRS and AARP certified volunteers will provide individual consultation concerning state and federal tax returns for seniors ages 50 and over from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Feb., 6. Tax preparation services are free and by appointment only. •Seniors with rheumatic disease and related manifestations are invited to the Senior Recreation Program's People with Arthritis Can Exercise class from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays. Activities are designed to improve endurance and joint motion. The class does not use activities that might aggravate arthritis symptoms. |
