Backyard Bootcamp offers varied challenges for adults

Owner Leslie Maltz of Backyard Bootcamp has designed a program of varied and demanding workouts which challenge participants of all levels while providing a safe and supportive environment for adults.

Each month Maltz and instructor Jesse Wright lead a group of bootcampers towards their own personal fitness goals. Participants maintain food journals and follow strict food guidelines designed by Hollywood nutritionist Dr. Tony Perrone.

Maltz's approach is to provide a fun environment. Every workout is different and may include tugowar, relay races, team challenges, parachute pulls, ladder drills, bungee cords, obstacles, hurdles, free weights, resistance tubing, core stabilization, trail adventures, hill climbing, rope climbing, calisthenics and more.

Each participant is prescreened prior to starting for any potential health risks. They receive their "before" photo, body fat composition results, free Tshirt and food journal. Camp begins the next day at 6:15 a.m.

Camps meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:15 a.m. at de Anza Park in Calabasas and also in Woodley Park in Encino.

Maltz is the fitness expert on a Sunday radio show at 1:20 p.m. with Christie Martindale for Coast 103.5 FM.
