Oak Park High PFA hosts Ladies Night Out
Evening of fun, games, prizes

SOPHIA FISCHER/Acorn Newspapers GONG SHOW- Gloria Morl, Oak Park High School Parent/Faculty Club president, left, and Ruth Singelyn, chair of the club's Ladies' Night Out, pose with Morl's authentic Chinese gong, a highlight of the annual event. The gong is used to announce winners of games played during the evening.
Sorry men, but only women are invited to enjoy an evening of entertainment and an opportunity to win a variety of prizes at 7 p.m. on Thurs., Jan 24 at the Oak Park High School Pavilion.

The annual Ladies Night Out, sponsored by the school's Parent/ Faculty Club, features games and prizes donated by local merchants including a private Pilates lesson, massage treatment, hair services and health club memberships. All proceeds benefit Oak Park High School students.

"We want moms to get out, have an evening of fun and meet other women," said Ladies Night Out Chairperson Ruth Singelyn.

This is the third year the group is hosting a Ladies Night Out. As in previous years PFC President Gloria Morl will bring her authentic Chinese gong, a popular highlight of the event.

"The gong is the best thing and totally makes the evening. It's a beautiful piece of art as well. Without that gong the event just would not be the same," said Lena Tucker, who has attended the past two events. "It's a time to socialize with your friends, just have a good time and not have to worry about anything, just focus on fun."

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Refreshments will be served.

To make a reservation or purchase a ticket, please call Diana Horton-Smith at (818) 704-3082 or Lydia Saravis at (805) 241-8419.
