Education league marks 80th year The Americanism Educational League will celebrate its 80th anniversary at 6 p.m. Sat., Feb. 16 at the Warner Canter Marriott in Woodland Hills. The reception includes a dinner and an awards show honoring "America's Freedom and Those Who Make it Possible," including Valley Magazine publisher Jane Boeckmann and businessman Michael J. Miller, honorary mayor of Woodland Hills. TV game show host Wink Martindale is the master of ceremonies. Singer Pat Boone will present awards and KABC-AM talk-radio personality Larry Elder is the guest speaker. The event is open to the public. Individual tickets cost $175 and tables of 10 are available for $1,500 each. Sponsorship opportunities are available. The reception is black tie optional, but business wear is mandatory for admittance. The Americanism Educational League is a nonprofit organization that has provided educational materials to elementary, secondary and university level schools.
