Artists can apply for fellowships

The California Community Foundation invites residents of Los Angeles County to apply for the 2008 Fellowships for Visual Artists.

The foundation will award $260,000 in fellowships to 14 Los Angeles County artists working in the visual arts. Ten fellowships of $20,000 each be given to mid-career artists and four fellowships of $15,000 each will go to emerging artists.

"This is an opportunity for talented artists to help bridge the cultural barriers in Los Angeles County," said Antonia Henandez, foundation president and CEO. "We appreciate the power that art has to bring people together."
