Nature hikes in January

Mountains Restoration Trust offers two hikes this month.

•Cold Creek Meanderings, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sun., Jan. 20. Milk maids and other signs of early spring bloom along the trail. Easy three-mile walk. Meet at the Lower Stunt High Trailhead. Reservations required.

•Cold Creek Preserve Moonrise/Sunset Stroll, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sun., Jan. 20. Views of distant mountain ranges, sandstone outcroppings, Santa Monica Bay and Cold Creek Preserve from Topanga lookout site.

Bring supper, water and snack to share. Meet at the top of Stunt Road.
