Locals' generosity serves up holiday dinners to military families

TONS OF TURKEYS- George Annino of Santa Comes to Agoura and Beyond, fifth from left, and Diane Morris of Costco are joined by representatives of the U.S. Army Reserve as they prepare for the transport of more than 200 donated turkeys to military families during the holidays.

The Santa Comes to Agoura and Beyond program and the employees of Costco in Westlake Village donated 2.5 tons of turkey to families of military men and women during the recent holidays.

More than 200 turkeys were given to the U.S. Army Reserve's 1498th Transportation Company at Camp Pendleton. Sgt. Eric Rudd was on hand to pick up and distribute the turkeys to the soldiers.

George Annino represented the Agoura/Las Virgenes Optimist Club and the Santa Comes to Agoura and Beyond food donation program and Diane Morris represented Costco.
