Meal for homeless was a success

I would like to thank everyone who helped make this year's Holiday Turkey Meal for the homeless, poor or lonely on Christmas Day a fantastic success.

I estimated that we fed approximately 330 souls that day, not including the people who benefited from the contribution of leftovers made to the Oxnard Rescue Mission. I'm sure you all feel as do, I a great sense of personal satisfaction and accomplishment from this wonderful mitzvah. It would not have been possible with out the help of each and every one of you.

Special thanks go to Larry Vad of Ideal Meats & Provisions in Northridge for donating 150 pounds of pre-cooked, boneless turkey breast; Scott Jacobs at Costco in Westlake Village for the generous donation of baked goods; and Donn Delson and Marianne Rivera of Conejo Community Diners Inc. for sponsoring the event.

Special, special thanks to Jon Weiss of Big Mango Catering in Culver City for preparing the turkey, stuffing, potatoes, vegetables and salad and delivering the goods on Christmas morning. The time and energy donated by Jon is inestimable. Without Jon, there is no community family dinner.

Again, thank you all for caring, for taking the time and for helping to make this year's Christmas a little better for those in need. Rob Greenberg Member, Temple Adat Elohim Thousand Oaks
