Itty Bitty league goes over big with kids

The Triunfo YMCA Itty Bitty Sports League's winter season begins with practices and games from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Jan. 8.

Games and practices are held at the YMCA's play fields at Sumac Elementary School, 6050 N. Calmfield Ave., Agoura Hills.

The league is for children ages three years to prekindergarten. The five sports taught will be soccer, T-ball, hockey, flag football and basketball.

"Kids get to try out a variety of sports. It's a great introduction to some of the sports they will be playing when they are older," said Veronica Rodarte, Triunfo YMCA program director. "We don't keep score and everybody plays."

The league runs six weeks. Sign-ups are underway.
