Area Chambers begin the New Year

•The Calabasas Chamber of Commerce is holding a networking breakfast at 7:15 a.m. Thurs., Jan. 10 at the Hilton Garden Inn at 24150 Park Sorrento in Calabasas.

The breakfast will include a discussion titled "Who Are You?" that will focus on how personal interests connect individuals to the business community and philanthropic organizations.

Admission is $15 for chamber members and $18 for first time visitors.

•The Woodland Hills-Tarzana Chamber of Commerce will hold the 2008 "Night Of Champions" inaugural celebration dinner at 6 p.m. Sat., Jan. 26 at the Woodland Hills Hilton at 6360 Canoga Ave. in Woodland Hills.

The evening will include silent and live auctions, dinner, installation of the incoming board of directors, honors and awards, dancing and sports entertainment.

Deborah Sable will be installed as chair of the Chamber, replacing outgoing chair Gordon Luster, who will be honored as well.

Paul Lawler will receive the 2007 Joseph Staller Award, which honors a local business or individual who has been recognized for outstanding community service.

•The Thousand OaksWestlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts the Networking Breakfast of Champions, sponsored by Inside Auto, on Fri., Jan. 11 at the Los Robles Greens Banquet Center, 299 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

Registration begins at 6:45 a.m., with an early bird drawing at 7 a.m.

Special guest Louis A. Cappadona from Nordman, Cormany, Hair & Compton will discuss "New Laws and Strategic Decisions for 2008." Topics will include new employment laws, how these laws will affect businesses, and employment strategies to protect the workplace.

Prepaid reservations are due by 2 p.m. Jan. 10. Chamber members pay $18.50, nonmembers $23.50. Payment after the deadline or at the door is $27.

•The Thousand OaksWestlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce will host an After Five Mixer from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wed., Jan. 16 at the Body Sanctuary, 850 Hampshire Road in Westlake Village.

Food and refreshments will be provided, along with raffle prizes. Cost is $2 for Chamber members, $10 for nonmembers. No RSVP is required.
