Rite-Way auto opens

Mark McKinstry has announced the opening of his new business, Rite-Way Automotive and Transmission, at the rear of Westlake Mobil, 942 S. Westlake Blvd.

Rite-Way is a full-service shop. All customers receive a complimentary "fronttoback, "toptobottom" vehicle inspection.

McKinstry has been a certified mechanic for more than 25 years. Customers may reach him on his cellphone after hours.

Shop hours are 7:30 a.m. until the last car is picked up, Monday through Saturday.

VICA names new leaders

The Valley Industry & Commerce Association recently announced its 2008 board of directors and selected CPA Greg Lippe as the board chair.

Lippe is the managing partner of Lippe, Hellie, Hoffer & Allison LLP in Woodland Hills and has been a VICA member since 2001. He served as the association's vice chair and headedup the Government Affairs Committee.

Joining Lippe on the 2008 executive committee will be Lynn Rinker, first vice chair, Coldwell Banker Quality Properties; Carolyn Casavan, second vice chair, West Coast Environmental & Engineering; Jerald Otchis, treasurer, Bobrick Washroom Equipment Inc.; and Bob Scott, immediate past chair, CivicCenter Group.

Pete Satuloff of Anderson, Satuloff, Machado & Mendelsohn received the Harmon Ballin Community Service Award, and Pegi Matsuda of San Fernando Valley Business Journal was recognized with the second annual President's Award.

Many Mansions receives a gift

Bank of America has awarded Many Mansions a $5,000 grant to support the organization's affordable housing programs and related services for resident adults and children.

Bank of America said its "philanthropic strategy" focuses on improving the community by supporting affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization, health and human services and arts and culture.

In addition to affordable housing in the Conejo Valley and surrounding areas, Many Mansions provides a variety of other on-site services for low-income residents.
