Or Ami shares the tales of Hanukkah's eight nights
Children will learn about the miracle of the temple oil lamps
Congregation Or Ami will offer parents a special Hanukkah program called "Eight Tales for Eight Nights: A Journey into Hanukkah Stories" from 10 to 11 a.m. Thurs., Dec. 11 at the synagogue, 26115 Mureau Road, Ste. B, Calabasas.
Rabbi Wendy Spears will explore new Hanukah stories, help families find their own stories, and teach storytelling skills.
The festival of Hanukah tells the story of the Maccabees overcoming religious opposition and the miracle of the temple oil which burned for eight days.
Spears was ordained in 1991 at the Hebrew Union College. She does outreach to the unaffiliated Jews and freelance weddings, funerals, baby-naming ceremonies, and teaching.
She previously taught a Kabbalah class at Congregation Or Ami.
