      CALIFORNIA GIRLS— The Real So Cal U19 soccer team is all smiles after winning the championship at the annual Surf Cup Tournament in San Diego on Thanksgiving weekend.

Basketball program open for special needs kids
      The Agoura Youth Basketball Association is starting a Very Important Players (VIP) program for special needs children who want to play the game. Registration will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sun., Dec. 14 at Lindero Canyon Middle School, 5844 N. Larboard Lane, Agoura. Cost is $10 per athlete to cover jerseys and trophies.

      STEPPIN' OUT— Jake Rivkin of Agoura Hills escorts debutante Julia Damron to the 59th annual Coronet Debutante Ball last month at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills. Proceeds from the ball were donated to National Charity League Los Angeles Founder Chapter.

Sports teams begin sign-ups
      Volleyball opens Dec. 15 The United States Youth Volleyball League is taking early bird registration through Dec. 15 for an eight-week league that will begin in April at Chaparral Elementary School in Calabasas. This is an instructional sports league for both boys and girls ages 7 to 14.

They're home for the holidays
      TINSELTOWN— Jo Ann and Mark Tattersall open their Westlake Village Cape Cod-style home as one of the stops on the 17th Annual Holiday Homes Tour. The Wellness Community Valley/ Ventura hosted the event last weekend. It's an annual fundraiser for the cancer support group.

      The Boys & Girls Clubs of Conejo & Las Virgenes recently welcomed new staff member David DeMaio as the fitness and sports director for its clubs located on the campuses of Los Cerritos, Colina, Redwood and Sequoia middle schools in Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park.

      HAND OVER HAND— Above, Westlake Village residents Nancy Taylor and her daughter Mai, 3, paint a tile at the White Oak Elementary School fundraiser last week. Families of students were invited to purchase and decorate a ceramic tile for $40.
