Malibu Ballet to dance 'Nutcracker'

The Malibu Ballet and Performing Arts Society's Outreach Program will provide transportation to and a free performance of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" performed by Dance for Kids at Smothers Theatre at Pepperdine University, 24255 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu.

Approximately 500 children will be bused in from four surrounding elementary schools for the performance at 10 a.m. Fri., Dec. 12.

The "Maid of Sweets" act includes three special guest child performers: two girls, first and fifthgraders from Piru Elementary School, and a young girl from Ethiopia who is part of the Mending Kids program.

Performances open to the public will be at 6 p.m. Fri., Dec. 12; 1 and 6 p.m. Sat., Dec. 13 and 1 p.m. Sun., Dec. 14.
