Agoura High grad wins award The Society of Women Engineers recently announced Kate Van Dellen, a 2004 graduate of Agoura High School, is a recipient of this year's Collegiate Member Award for outstanding efforts and leadership as an undergraduate student. Van Dellen served as president of her Society of Women Engineers at California Polytechnic State University and implemented programs such as Membership Buddies, which pairs section officers with members to enhance communication and member participation. She was also active with SWE outreach efforts, serving as the university's open house director and starting a Passport to Engineering program for children in kindergarten through grade 12. While at Cal Poly, Van Dellen participated in summer internships, including working on a NASA C17 research project, receiving the Group Achievement Award for her contribution. She is now an engineer at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, where she helps with the Citation X Project Team. |
