Chamber supports Heschel school

On behalf of the United Chambers of Commerce, we want to congratulate Agoura/Oak Park/ Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce President Louis Masry for his leadership and the Chamber's support for the Heschel West Day School that will now be built in Agoura.

The Agoura Chamber was an early supporter of the Heschel school when many said it would never be built. No private property owner or business, and especially not a school, should have to endure the 10-year battle that Heschel West was put through by the city of Agoura Hills.

As Masry said in last week's Acorn letter, that despite the lack of any support or funding from the city for the Chamber the past 25 years and Heschel, they still prevailed.

The United Chambers of Commerce wants the businesses and schools in Agoura Hills to know that we are here for you with support, which includes land use attorneys for sign and permit issues with the city, business loans and seminars on business development.

Heschel West and the Agoura Chamber are great examples of working together in a community and never giving up, despite overwhelming odds Alex Soteras Calabasas

Soteras is director of the United Chambers of Commerce and vice president of the Agoura/Oak Park/Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce
