      •The Las Virgenes Unified School District Board of Education cannot leave Terilyn Finders' board seat vacant for two years. The education code allows only for a four-month vacancy. Finders is resigning from the board this month halfway through her term and a replacement will have to be named.

Destroyed Oak Park sign gets replaced
      Motorists heading north on Kanan Road will once again know when they have entered Oak Park. A new "Welcome to Oak Park" sign in the Kanan Road center median near Tamarind Street replaces the sign that was destroyed last January by an Oak Park resident who crashed his Ferrari into it.

1995 Agoura murder case lives on

      When Brandon Hein was convicted of murder for the 1996 death of a Los Angele policeman's son, a gasp of disbelief went out nationwide. Hein received a sentence of life without parole for the death of the 18year-old, Jimmy Farris, even though he didn't commit the crime.

Leonis Adobe gets seed money for garden
      AU NATUREL— The Calabasas Certified Farmers Market presents a $3,000 grant to the Leonis Adobe Museum in recognition of the organization's organic gardens. All crops on the museum's grounds are grown entirely with organic cultivation. The crops include many heirloom vegetables, vines and flowers.

Universal Love Foundation to hold toy drive for Childrens Hospital
      The Universal Love Foundation will host its annual House of Hope for Grief and Loss Center open house Sat., Dec. 6 at its headquarters in Agoura Hills. The open house will raise awareness of the organization's mission and collect toys for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

      Senior Concerns will repeat its free seminar "Veterans' Benefits: Do You Know If You Are Eligible?" from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wed., Dec. 10 at Senior Concerns Adult Day Center, 401 Hodencamp Road, Thousand Oaks.
