Calabasas' Spivack opts for Berkeley

Seth Spivack, a Calabasas High senior and honor student, signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball for the University of California, Berkeley.

According to the switchhitter, he signed as soon as he could, just after 7 a.m. on Nov. 12.

Spivack, who fielded interest from several Pac-10 universities, said couldn't be more excited about his future with the Bears.

"It will be a privilege to be a part of the Berkeley baseball program," he said.

Spivack is a catcher, pitcher and outfielder.
