Lindero Canyon to highlight history

Lindero Canyon Middle School will hosts the 20th annual History Day Lindero beginning at 8 a.m. Wed., Dec. 10 at the school, 5844 Larboard Lane, Agoura Hills.

Agoura Hills and Westlake Village city officials and residents, Las Virgenes Unified School District administrators, and teachers from other school districts will judge more than 300 exhibits and research papers.

The event will culminate with a Parents Night from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. that day in the Steve Capretta Memorial Gymnasium on campus.

The event will highlight the work of the eighthgrade students through documentary/media presentations, web sites, performances and visuals displays.

The Lindero principal will announce the students who will represent the school at the 27th annual History Day L.A. at Azusa Pacific University in March 2009.

The community may attend the event at no charge.

History Day Lindero culminates a semester's research into application. The theme was "The Individual in History: Action and Legacies."
