Cartoon just doesn't add up

Bill Stanford's political cartoon of Nov. 20 is supposed to be clever and ironic with "new math" that Oak Park school taxes are supposedly going up as family incomes are going down. His facts are incorrect.

He does a disservice to the community, our schools and those of us who work for the betterment of Oak Park. Our future school taxes are actually going down in Oak Park, even with the passage of Measure R to repair Oak Park schools.

I am pleased that Oak Park voters studied the information to realize this and voted to successfully pass this much needed bond measure for our aging schools. Many thanks, Oak Park. I am disappointed Bill Stanford didn't do his homework. Barbara Schwartz Oak Park
