Encouraging seat belt awareness
      The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will be aggressively enforcing the state's seat belt and child safety seat laws during the "Click It or Ticket" campaign taking place through Sun., Nov. 30. The campaign uses heavy enforcement and public education to help reduce deaths and injuries on state highways.

Compost facility hours change for the holidays
      Rancho Las Virgenes Composting Facility, operated by Las Virgenes Municipal Water District and Triunfo Sanitation District, announces its holiday schedule. The program will be closed Sat., Nov. 29, Dec. 27 and Jan. 3. The facility will be open all other Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The facility is at 3700 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas.
