Girls strike down the competition

Curling rocks the house at Simi rink

Girls' golf squad finishes fourth at Northern Divisional
      Even when the Westlake High girls' golf team isn't playing its best, the Warriors are still better than the most of their competition. Although the Warriors weren't in top form Monday at the CIFSouthern Section Girls Golf Northern Divisional at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard, WHS still shot a 437, good enough for a fourth-place finish.

Boys' water polo squad chasing back-to-back CIF titles
      "Why not us?" It's the question several local boys' water polo teams are contemplating as the first round of the CIFSouthern Section Division IV playoffs gets underway in earnest this afternoon. More than any other season in recent memory, earning a section banner is within reach for many in the 16-team field, said Agoura High head coach Dustin Litvak.

Volleyball action heats up
      This season, the girls' volleyball teams at Thousand Oaks, La Reina and Viewpoint went undefeated in their respective leagues. It's great, and it deserves a big pat on the back, but it also doesn't mean much now. Regular-season records we're thrown out the window as the CIF-Southern Section girls' volleyball playoffs began this week.
