It was a bittersweet election night. Our country seemed to mature and evolve before our very misty eyes. Did America just overwhelmingly elect a black man to the most powerful position in the world? A man who speaks of turning the page of divisiveness and intolerance, calling for an end to partisanship and political gridlock? More ... I don't understand why so many of the people wanting to pass Proposition 8 make this a religious issue. This is a basic human's right issue which people of the United State have fought hard to preserve. Some Americans have died fighting to give us the freedom to marry whom we choose. More ... Our choices have been made and now we should look at ourselves to see where we stand in the name of tolerance. It seems in our quest to participate and to be active in the political process we have fallen in the trap of accusing people of hatred and bigotry when their view hasn't matched our own. More ... President-elect Obama is soon to be my president and I give to him the respect his office calls for and my wishes for success. That said, I am awaiting with interest to see if we have elected an empty suit or someone who can "walk the walk. More ...
