Play tells Mark's Gospel

Agoura Bible Fellowship presents a one-act play, "Traveling Light," a contemporary retelling of the Gospel of Mark, at 6 p.m. Sat., Nov. 15 in the church sanctuary, 5564 Foothill Drive, Agoura Hills.

Playwright Larry Enscoe has changed the characters in the gospel story into their modern counterparts. Peter is a longshoreman from Brooklyn, Levi is a nerdy tax-accountant for the IRS, and King Herod is a Mafioso. Each of these people tell about their personal encounters with Jesus Christ in modern language.

All the characters, from a widow on Social Security to a crusty old general named Pilate, are all played by one actor, Alan Atwood of Milwaukee, Wisc.

Admission is free and open to the public.
