Captain spent 60 years on the job

Don Franklin of the Los Angeles County Fire Department enjoys old war stories during a recent luncheon that celebrated his retirement after six decades of service. The event was held at Fire Station 144 in Westlake Village. Franklin, 82, worked at the station in the 1970s and '80s before becoming involved with fire department training.
