Agoura's Hultin in top form during summer swim season

Shannyn Hultin Shannyn Hultin Shannyn Hultin, a sophomore at Agoura High, was a top performer at the Junior Olympics held in Santa Clarita in August.

Hultin took first place in both the 200-meter individual medley and the 400-meter individual medley, finished eighth in the 50meter freestyle, 13th in the 100meter butterfly and 14th in the 200-meter butterfly.

Following her performances at the Junior Olympics, Hultin was part of the Southern California Swimming all-star team that competed in the North American Challenge Cup in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Swimming against all-star teams from Canada, Mexico and Pacific Swimming, Hultin took bronze medals in both the 200meter individual medley and the 400-meter individual medley and placed fifth in the 400-meter freestyle.

Hultin trains with Conejo Simi Aquatics at California Lutheran University and Rancho Simi Community Pool under head coach Gardner Howland and will return to swim for the AHS swim team this season.

Last season, Hultin was a finalist at CIF in both the 200 IM and 100 butterfly, and was selected for the CIF Masters Meet.
