Westlake trio comes up short
      A pair of local high school student-athletes have advanced to today's CIF-Southern Section Girls' Golf Finals at Mountain Meadow Golf Course in Pomona. Oaks Christian junior Remy Molyneux and Agoura High junior Katherine Liu both posted scores of 76 at Monday's CIF-SS Northern Individual Regional at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai to move on to the finals.

Agoura's Hultin in top form during summer swim season
      Shannyn Hultin, a sophomore at Agoura High, was a top performer at the Junior Olympics held in Santa Clarita in August. Hultin took first place in both the 200-meter individual medley and the 400-meter individual medley, finished eighth in the 50meter freestyle, 13th in the 100meter butterfly and 14th in the 200-meter butterfly.

Locals shine at county cross country championships
      The Ventura County Cross Country Championships were held last Friday at Lake Casitas in Ojai, and no schools ran faster than the Thousand Oaks High boys' squad and the Simi Valley girls' team. The Thousand Oaks boys' finished in first place with 82 points, ahead of Royal, which placed second with 95 points.

New kart track in T.O. built for speed
      Whoever said there's nothing fun to do in the Conejo Valley probably hasn't had a chance to visit the MB2 Raceway in Thousand Oaks. Truly a one-of-a-kind sporting venue for the area, MB2 Raceway, which sits in a 60,000-square-foot industrial building near Amgen, opened seven weeks ago and has quickly gained popularity.
