Biased teacher

My freshman at Agoura High has been inundated by his teacher's political views since the beginning of this school year. Yesterday, one of his teachers took a public vote and my son was one of only two who raised their hands in favor of McCain. This followed an anti-Bush rant by this same teacher.

My sixth-grader at Medea Creek has experienced similar public polls as well as regular political expression from his teachers espousing the virtues of Obama, the dangers of McCain and Palin, as well as the by now ubiquitous and mostly emotional attacks on Bush.

When was our public education system changed to include political indoctrination and public declarations of affiliation? When did our national voting policy go from secret ballot to potential public humiliation and ostracizing for sixth and ninthgraders? Bruce Sallan Agoura Hills
