Sending help to faraway neighbors

MUDDY WATERS—Children in Gasi Springs, Ethiopia, gather water from the area's mud hole, formerly the only source of water for the small village. With the help of Brookside Elementary School students and their families, who donated $1,405 to the Charity: Water organization, the toxic mud hole is now gone, replaced by clean, safe drinking water. "This project radically changed the lives of more than 300 people," said Charity: Water president Scott Harrison in a letter to Brookside families.
