Foundation donates $135,000 to school district

      An infusion of funds from the Las Virgenes Educational Foundation (LVEF) will help ease some of the budget problems at the Las Virgenes Unified School District. Stuart Selter, foundation president, presented the LVUSD Board of Education with a $135,000 check to shore up the district's finances.

      Students in grades six through 12 are encouraged to participate in the Agoura Hills Library Teen Debates on Nov. 1. According to Shelley Corrington, teen librarian, the topics to be debated include the economy, gay marriage, education, stem cell research, global warming and the Middle East, Corrington said.

Choir members will sing a regional chorus
      HARMONY— Ten Oak Park High School choir students have been chosen for Regional Honors Choir from the 600 students in Southern California who auditioned. Many Mansions hosts Bowls of Hope
      Many Mansions will host the Bowls of Hope Project from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sun., Nov. 2 at Calamigos Ranch, 327 S. Latigo Canyon Road, Malibu. The project is designed to spread awareness about the homeless, the need for affordable housing and the services that Many Mansions provides.
