Teen Assist card more 'user-friendly'

      For the seventh time, the credit card-sized Teen Assist card, which holds a directory of hotlines for teens, has been updated by the Conejo/Las Virgenes Future Foundation. Executive Director Fran Brough called the card "userfriendly" for teens.

Pizza night with Friendship Circle
      The Friendship Circle will host a Sukkot "Pizza in the Hut" party from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sun., Oct. 19 at Chabad of Agoura Hills, 30345 Canwood St., Agoura Hills. All families of children with special needs are invited. Every child will be matched with a teen volunteer who will accompany them through the activities.

Take Halloween safety seriously

      Halloween is fun for kids, but, unfortunately, and from my experience, it can also be a day that children end up visiting the emergency room. As the head of the Emergency Department at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, I have seen the results of too many accidents that happen on this day that is supposed to be devoted to fun and play.
