Forum on legal issues for religious leaders

The Fifth Los Angeles Superior Court will sponsor an interdenominational Court-Clergy Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 23 in St. Nicolas Greek Orthodox Church community hall, 17037 Plummer St., Northridge.

The 18 speakers will present legal information that can be used by clerics in their pastoral work.

Expert panelists will discuss child abuse reporting requirements, criminal and juvenile delinquency court proceedings, drug courts and drug treatment programs, elder abuse and conservatorships, domestic violence and family issues, and immigrant issues.

The conference is also sponsored by the Valley Interfaith Council and the San Fernando Faith Coalition.

Religious leaders, ordained or not, from anywhere in Los Angeles County may attend.
