Chabad celebrates Sukkot, Simchat Torah

Chabad will be traveling the community with a Sukkah Mobile, a sukkah (hut) mounted on a flat bed truck, today through Sun., Oct. 19.

The mobile will visit local shopping centers and senior homes, offering all Jews the opportunity to come inside the sukkah and made a blessing on the palm branch and citron.

The holiday of Simchat Torah will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Tues., Oct. 21 at these locations: Chabad of Agoura Hills, 30345 Canwood St.; Chabad of Westlake Village, 2524 Townsgate Road; Chabad of Thousand Oaks, 2060 Avenida de Los Arboles, Ste. I; Chabad of Calabasas, 3871 Old Topanga Canyon.

Celebrations will include dancing with the Torah and flags for all children.

The last portion of the Torah will be read at 10 a.m. Wed., Oct. 22 at all local Chabad centers, immediately followed by the reading of the portion of Genesis.
