Bar mitzvah project supports cancer research
      Jake Johnson and Nick Winters, both age 12 and seventhgraders at Lindero Canyon Middle School, are raising funds for pancreatic cancer research. Both boys are from Westlake Village. They will sell lemonade and baked goods at a stand in front of Three Springs in Westlake Village from 1 to 4 p.m. Sun., Oct. 19 to raise donations.

Chabad celebrates Sukkot, Simchat Torah
      Chabad will be traveling the community with a Sukkah Mobile, a sukkah (hut) mounted on a flat bed truck, today through Sun., Oct. 19. The mobile will visit local shopping centers and senior homes, offering all Jews the opportunity to come inside the sukkah and made a blessing on the palm branch and citron.

Halloween carnival at church
      The sixth annual Christian Church of Agoura Hills Halloween Carnival will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sat., Oct. 25 at the church, 29295 Agoura Road. The event will include a moon bounce, jousting ring, games, costume contests, prizes and a screening of "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Speaker promotes peace in Middle East
      Calvary Community Church will host guest speaker Salim Munayer, PhD, at 7 p.m. Sat., Oct. 25 in Room 1107 at the church, 5495 Via Rocas, Westlake Village. Munayer is the founder and director of Musalaha, a nonprofit organization in Jerusalem that promotes reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians.
