Shame on parking abusers

Why can't the police patrol the Agoura Hills shopping malls and ticket cars that are parked illegally? Why don't the property management companies have the parking regulations enforced?

There are handicap spaces at the southerly entrance to Vons on Kanan Road. More than once in the mornings I have seen the same Lexus pull into the blue-lined area that reads "No Parking." He gets out of his car and strolls, I say "strolls," into Vons. There's no handicap sign hanging on his mirror and he walks just as well as, or better, that I do. No limp of any kind.

The other morning I witnessed a big SUV pull in the handicap space and the driver jump out and stroll into Vons. Both of these persons were obviously just going in to get a Starbucks, but were too lazy to go a few more car spaces and park legally.

This type of person not only should be issued the appropriate fine, but should be subjected to performing as a physically challenged person by putting a brace on their leg and not have any handicap spaces available for them.

Again, what's the point of "No Parking," "Handicap Parking Only" signs, as well as being painted in blue so you know better not to park there, if people just ignore them and park there anyway? The blue-lined area is for persons who need to unload their wheelchairs in order to perform their daily duties.

People who abuse these parking restriction rules should be ashamed of themselves. Someday they may really need one of those spaces and there might not be one available because some other inconsiderate person has parked there.

Next time I see these gentlemen, I plan to take pictures and inform them of their selfishness for not being considerate of others who are less fortunate. Trudy Willauer Agoura Hills
