Keep Stage Door Theatre open

This is another letter concerning the terrible news that Gale and Mike's theatre, The Stage Door in Agoura, is closing down. This is a dreadful loss to the entire community of Agoura as well as a loss of a dream fulfilled for Gale.

I have known her since the 1970s and watched her dream to have her own theatre come true. Now she and Mike are being forced to shut down their entire operation and why? It seems that this is another case of "man's inhumanity to man." It's as simple and as awful as that. This is an impossible situation to understand.

Aren't we all in this together? Why treat each other in any manner other than with dignity, respect and courtesy? The most important attribute for any and all of us to possess is kindness. Is this a kind act? Until each of us adopts the religion of kindness, acts of inhumanity will arise over and over again.

We all need to take part in stopping this. What can be done to reverse this situation? Gale and Mike have a theater that serves the community in a myriad of ways. Can we stop this action and help kindness to prevail? I certainly hope we can. Ann Monahan Calabasas
