The event was a fundraiser in support of breast cancer programs and research. The second annual Cure in the Canyons breast cancer awareness and fundraiser event came to the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village last Sunday—along with more than 600 enthusiastic supporters.

The Four Seasons rose garden was filled with colorful centerpieces and cool white cabanas containing a variety of health and beauty vendors who offered free products and treatments that included manicures, facials and massages.

Pleasant sunny skies greeted the visitors.

The California Health and Longevity Institute lent an ear to those feeling stressed and out of storts by giving away free acupuncture treatments.

Local wines, gourmet foods, chocolates and teas filled the lunch menu.

"I don't know a family that hasn't been affected by cancer," said Shannon Tweed, actress, model and guest celebrity. "Healthy living is the key and also early detection."

Tweed appeared with her daughter, Sophie, for a taping of their television reality show, "Gene Simmons Family Jewels."

The former Kiss frontman is Tweed's longtime partner.

Tracy Darroll of Calabasas came to the event with several of her friends.

"It's a fantastic event to support breast cancer research," said Darroll, whose brother died of pancreatic cancer at age 48.

This year's Cure in the Canyons was presented by Angeleno Magazine, Shape Magazine and Revolution Tea. The $55 ticket helped raise funds for medical and clinical research in the fight against cancer.

Vendors included Paul Mitchell, Billion Dollar Brows, Youngblood, OPI, Korbel and Kerstin Florian.

Last year's event was held in Malibu.
