Stapleton was born and raised in Santa Rosa, Calif., attended CSU Long Beach where she took her BA in Interior Design, and settled in the Conejo Valley in 1985.

In 2007, she joined the International Bird Rescue Research Center, to save and rehabilitate coastal birds. She is also a new member of the Westlake Village Art Guild and the Ventura County Chapter of HomeAid.
