Foster, adoptive parents to meet for ACTION

ACTION (Area Christians Taking Initiatives On Needs) Foundation of Ventura County will hold the first meeting of its training and support network for foster and adoptive parents from 9 to 11 a.m. Sat., Oct. 25 at EvFree Church, 999 Rancho Conejo Blvd., Newbury Park.

The network is a partnership with agencies such as Ventura County Children and Family Services, Foster and Kinship Care Education and the Foster Parents Association.

The group will meet four times a year. Each meeting will include an hour of training and an hour devoted to support and networking.

Meetings will qualify for two hours of continuing education credit for foster parents. Childcare will be provided.

ACTION is a faithbased organization that was formed to engage Christians in community service.
