EXERCISING THEIR RIGHTS— Sumac students, fighting to keep physical education at their elementary school, will take part in a jog-athon. Sumac Elementary School in Agoura Hills held a Rock 'N' Run Jog-athon rally Sept. 26.

A short film, inspiring studentto " Ask Five to Keep P.E. Alive!was shown. Students are encouraged to ask at least five people to sponsor them to help fund Sumac's physical education program. Although California requires instructional P.E., it is not funded by the state.

The pledges from jog-athon sponsors will enable the school's PFA to continue to provide a twiceweekly P.E. program for all grade levels in addition to daily all-school warmups with the P.E. teacher every morning.
