Public works scholarships available

Scholarships are now available for college students who participated as interns or part-time employees at any public works agency or engineering consulting firm in Ventura County during any part of 2008.

The deadline for the scholarship, administered by the Ventura County chapter of the American Public Works Association, is Oct. 31, 2008.

A committee will choose scholarship winners based on the application and their experience. The applicant's former employer will also be contacted to verify the student's satisfactory performance and attendance.
