An endorsement for Derek Ross

Oak Park will be voting to replace two of its most experienced and admired members of the Municipal Advisory Council this November. Todd Haines and Deena Parry will be a very hard act to follow, but there is one candidate I'm absolutely positive will do a great job. I wanted to be sure the rest of the voters in Oak Park get to know him and what he is all about. His name is Derek Ross.

I've worked with Derek over the past five years on the board of directors of the Montego Oak Park HOA and have grown to depend on his level-headed determination and good hearted dedication to his neighborhood in looking out for the safety and security of our community as an invaluable asset. Now Derek wants to devote this same quality energetic work ethic and motivation and offer his great ideas and proposals in service of the entire Oak Park community.

Derek's past work as a volunteer deputy with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department, Oak Park CERT, T.O. DART and activism with the OPUSD shows a remarkable interest and dedication to the kind of quality of life standards that make living here in our little piece of heaven so special and sought after as a great place to live by others in the know.

Derek is constantly delivering new concepts about organizing to keep our environment clean, people well informed on safety issues and defending our property values any way possible. The best thing I can say about Derek though is that deep down I've found he's just simply a really good person I'm glad to know.

I hope that in the course of his running for a position on the MAC you have an opportunity to get to meet Derek. You'll see that this passion for the community is infectious and just the shot in the arm I think Oak Park needs as we move into the coming challenges of the next stage of development in our great community.
